Meta Description Integrity

Meta Description Integrity measures how well a page’s meta description reinforces the entity, intent, and value of the page. While AI systems do not rely on meta descriptions for ranking, they do use them as a trust-alignment signal — confirming surface intent, user framing, and entity context.

High-integrity descriptions create alignment between the title, content, schema, and user purpose. Low-integrity descriptions create contradictions or “search-era noise” that weaken AI reconstruction, reduce trust, and risk misclassification in downstream entity graphs.

‍

Write clear, human-readable summaries that reflect what the page actually is and why it exists.

Keep descriptions concise, accurate, and consistent with the page’s title and schema.

Communicate purpose + entity value directly — no fluff, no persuasion language.

Maintain internal conventions: use a stable institutional tone across all pages.

Avoid keyword lists, marketing hooks, and SEO gimmicks.

Treat the meta description as a structural alignment field, not a promotional field.

‍

SEO-stuffed descriptions overloaded with keywords, harming clarity and signaling legacy search optimization rather than structural intent.

Descriptions disconnected from the actual page content, causing AI to lower trust weighting.

‍Descriptions that are too vague, offering no meaningful signal about entity or purpose.

‍Descriptions written as ads, which break institutional tone and confuse page intent.

‍Descriptions missing entirely, leaving AI systems to infer meaning solely from body content.

‍Descriptions that contradict the title, weakening the overall entity reconstruction loop.
