Professional Services & Consulting's mean ECC declined 0.40 points across a 48-entity matched panel, while the median rose 6.5 points. Seventeen entities were meaningful movers. The continuously legible core strengthened, but three exits tightened the access boundary.

Energy's aggregate ECC rose 3.12 points across a fully matched 50-entity panel. Sixteen entities were meaningful movers. Two legibility entries generated most of the net increase, while Open posture stayed flat and Defensive posture grew. Energy became more visible without becoming more open.

Healthcare’s matched 50-entity panel rose from a mean ECC of 49.44 in January to 55.22 in July 2026. Eleven entities were meaningful movers, three entered legibility, none exited, and High capability increased from six to nine. The sector’s defining shift is controlled interpretation: greater AI legibility without abandoning liability-aware posture.

Across the same 50 institutions, Finance's mean ECC moved only from 48.26 to 48.06 between January 20 and July 30, 2026. The flat average concealed a rotation in public machine legibility: Goldman Sachs entered the observable layer with High capability; Blackstone moved into Blocked posture; ICICI Bank upgraded to High capability; Citigroup moved from High to Low while remaining Defensive; and Nu Holdings tightened from Open to Defensive. These are structural observations about public machine legibility, not rankings of franchise quality, operating performance, or investment merit.

Across the same Tech 100, mean ECC rose from 44.87 to 47.33 between January 20 and July 30, 2026 while High capability expanded from 13 to 20 entities. The aggregate posture map ended unchanged at 57 Open, 21 Defensive, and 22 Blocked, even though two companies entered machine legibility and two exited. The dated January baseline helps show why the result matters: KLA, Applied Materials, Lam Research, Apple, Micron Technology, CrowdStrike, Workday, Datadog, Atlassian, and Veeva Systems were among the Authority Compounder examples, while Alphabet, Palantir, Qualcomm, Adobe, Spotify, and Snowflake were Open but Fragmented and TSMC, Tesla, Oracle, AMD, SAP, and ServiceNow were Blocked. Those named examples describe the January baseline, not July endpoint classifications.

Media's aggregate ECC was nearly flat from January to July, moving from 60.74 to 60.59 across 100 matched organizations. Beneath that surface, High capability expanded from 21 to 31 entities, while five legibility exits erased gains generated by four entries and broad improvement among continuously legible publishers.

Across the matched panel of 744 entities, average ECC rose from 51.26 to 52.43 between January 20 and July 30, 2026. The more important movement was structural: high capability expanded while the share of Open entities edged down, showing that machine legibility can improve without a parallel increase in openness.

The Q1 Restaurants & Hospitality thesis described a sector caught between habit and interpretation, structurally exposed to AI-mediated discovery substitution. Q2 confirms the worst version of that thesis is playing out. Yelp collapsed from ECC 86 to 0 — the largest negative move in any Q2 reading. Marriott joined the Blocked tier alongside seven other major hotel chains, leaving the hospitality sector functionally invisible to AI travel agents. Darden Restaurants exited AI legibility. A handful of mid-tier brands re-entered or upgraded, but the dominant Q2 pattern is sector-wide retreat from AI-mediated discovery.

The Q1 Energy thesis — that the sector moves slowly, defensive postures are temporary, and opacity is the rational choice for state-backed or geopolitically sensitive firms — is partially refuted by Q2. Energy is now one of the most active sectors in the Q2 dataset, with 22 meaningful movers. Two Q1 Closed Sovereignty Holders re-entered AI legibility (Marathon Oil +64, Cheniere +60). Engie's +29 leap takes it to ECC 92, the highest in the Energy dataset. The Q1 prediction that opacity buys time appears less durable than the framework originally suggested.

The Q1 thesis — that documentation culture predicts AI legibility better than market dominance — is largely intact in Q2. Nine companies moved, with most movement reinforcing the original archetype assignments. Two findings demand attention: Ramp's -62 ECC collapse from Authority Compounder to Open but Unresolved (the largest negative ECC move in any Q2 reading), and Visa's quiet +9 drift that suggests the network paradox is partially beginning to close. The crypto Authority Compounders (Circle, Fireblocks) drifted negatively. The cross-border money-movement cluster (dLocal, Flywire, Green Dot) drifted positively. The Q1 framework's core insight stands.

The Q1 eCommerce report's central finding — that Amazon's operational scale did not translate into AI-layer authority — no longer holds. In one quarter, Amazon moved from ECC 5 to ECC 64, a +59 gain that is the largest single-quarter move by any institution in any Q2 ECC reading. eBay made a parallel move from Blocked to Open. AutoZone retreated to Blocked. The Conversion Economy is reordering faster than predicted, and the Q1 archetype assignments need partial revision.
